«Hi, my name’s Adri and I’m an aquaholic.»
It all started when my grandparents took me fishing on their tiny boat every summer. Then I discovered Cousteau’s documentaries and thought “I wanna live on the Calypso!”
I managed to make a living as a surf photographer for a few years, but the depths kept calling and I couldn’t ignore the call. Around 2013, I dove headfirst (literally) into the dive industry. Althought i might not have been living on the Calypso, I did get to spend every single day showing people the wild magic hiding beneath the waves and there’s honestly no better feeling in the world.
When I’m not taking people, I take my camera. That’s the other 50% of my mission, to show what’s happening below the surface to those who’ve never seen it, but could stand up for it and help protect it.
I believe in the butterfly effect: if my photos can pull even a couple more souls toward the ocean to make someone care, act, or just give a damn then I’ve done my job. 🤘
